CalExotics Ultra Soft Dual Silicone Cock Ring

What it is

The CalExotics Ultra-Soft™ Dual Ring is a black, one-piece silicone ring with two openings, made by California Exotic Novelties, LLC of Ontario, California, and measuring 2.75 inches (7 cm) tall by 2 inches (5 cm) wide. It is a passive accessory: no motor, no battery, no charging port and nothing to assemble. It arrives on a hanging blister card with the ring held in a clear moulded tray, and the card's front sums it up in two lines — an "Ultra-Soft™ and cushy dual silicone ring" that is "flexible, seamless and durable".

It sits in our cock rings range alongside single loops, beaded cages and vibrating designs. What sets this one apart is the format: two openings cut into a single flat, rounded teardrop of silicone rather than two separate bands joined by a strap or a bridge.

Design and shape

Seen flat, the ring is a rounded teardrop with a broad, solid band of silicone running all the way around the outside and a thick bar across the middle. That bar divides the interior into two openings of different shapes. The upper opening, toward the narrow end, is a compact teardrop; the lower opening, toward the broad end, is a wider, flatter oval. Because the two openings differ in width and shape, the ring has a clear top and bottom and is not symmetrical end to end.

Turned on its side, the moulding shows how much material there is. The outer edge is thick and fully rounded, more like a cushioned bumper than a thin band, and the inner edges of both openings are smoothly radiused rather than cut square. There is no seam line, no join and no metal or plastic insert anywhere in the piece — which matches the card's "seamless" description. The surface has a soft, low-sheen matte finish in solid black.

The card's size graphic gives exactly two measurements: the overall height of 2.75 inches (7 cm) and the overall width of 2 inches (5 cm). Those figures describe the outside of the ring. The pack does not print the inside width of either opening, and neither do we; a figure we cannot see on the packaging is not one we are willing to publish.

The material

The back of the card lists the material plainly as silicone, and the front carries Ultra-Soft™, the trade name printed on this pack. The feature list adds three statements about it: body safe, unscented and phthalate free. Phthalates are a family of chemicals used to soften some plastics, and "phthalate free" is a common statement on moulded accessories for that reason. If you want independent background on the term, California's Prop 65 chemical fact sheets (OEHHA) cover several phthalates, and the California Prop 65 warnings (OEHHA) site explains how chemical warnings on consumer goods work. Neither source reviews or endorses this product; they explain the terminology.

The packaging also calls the ring stretchy and comfortable, and describes it as sturdy and durable. Stretch is what lets a closed silicone ring go on and come off without a clasp or an adjuster — this one has neither, so the give in the material is the whole fitting mechanism.

How to use it

The packaging gives care and safety instructions rather than a step-by-step fitting guide. The illustrations on the size graphic show the ring worn with one opening at the base of the shaft and the other around the scrotum, which is the arrangement the card describes as "dual". Beyond that, follow the printed instructions that come with the ring. What the card does state clearly:

• Wash before and after each use.
• Use with water-based lubricant. This is the only lubricant type the packaging names.
• Wear it for 30 minutes at most at a time, and allow 60 minutes before the next use.
• Do not fall asleep while using it under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• Discontinue use in the event of pain or any medical condition.

For the washing step, warm water and a mild soap are a practical choice for a solid silicone piece with no electronics and no hidden seams. Let it air-dry fully afterwards and store it somewhere clean and dry, away from direct heat. Keeping it in the tray it arrived in, or in a small pouch, stops it collecting lint and dust from a drawer.

Who it's for

This ring is for adults 18 and over who want a simple, non-powered wearable that sits in two places at once rather than one. It suits someone who prefers soft, flexible silicone to rigid metal or firm rubber, and who wants something with no batteries to charge and nothing that can fail mechanically. Because it is a single moulded piece, there are no straps to adjust and no snaps to line up.

If you want to compare it with other men's accessories — including vibrating rings and single-loop styles — browse our men's adult products section.

Good to know

The back of the card carries a direct safety warning, and it is worth reading before first use. It describes this as a non-medical device intended as a sexual aid only, and states that it is not intended for contraception or birth control. It warns that prolonged use without removal may result in bruising at the base or lasting injury to the penis, and it tells users to consult a physician should any complication occur and to stop using the product immediately. The card also states that it is not intended for any medical or therapeutic use.

If you have a medical condition, speak to a clinician before using any close-fitting wearable of this kind. Keep it out of reach of children.
