Deng Sen Extract and Condonopsis, both printed on this panel, are names for Codonopsis pilosula, a bellflower root used for centuries as a gentler stand-in for ginseng. Atractylodes is the rhizome of Atractylodes macrocephala. Puerania Lobata, as the panel spells it, is kudzu root. Cuscuta is dodder seed, harvested from a climbing parasitic vine. Cordyceps Sinensis is not a plant at all but a fungus, originally gathered on the Tibetan plateau and now largely cultivated. Cinnamon Bark is the ordinary kitchen spice, the dried inner bark of Cinnamomum trees. The panel then lists Dismutase and, separately, Superoxide Dismutase — two names for the same family of enzyme — and closes the list with the words "Proprietary Formula". Neither the source of the enzyme nor the make-up of that final entry is stated on the card.
