The vitamins and the mineral. Vitamin A appears as beta carotene at 1,000 IU, the plant-derived form found in carrots and leafy greens. Five B vitamins follow: thiamine mononitrate (B1) at 1.25 mg, niacin (B3) at 1 mg, calcium pantothenate (B5) at 2.5 mg, pyridoxine HCL (B6) at 3.8 mg, and cyanocobalamin (B12) at 54 mcg. BioPerine. At 500 mcg, this is a branded extract of black pepper fruit (Piper nigrum) standardised for piperine, the compound that gives peppercorns their bite. It is a formulation ingredient rather than a botanical in the blend, which is why the label gives it its own line.

• Mucuna Pruriens extract HPLC — velvet bean. The "HPLC" on the label refers to high-performance liquid chromatography, the analytical method used to standardise the extract.
• Maca root — a hardy root crop of the Peruvian Andes, botanically a brassica and a relative of the radish.
• Muira puama — wood and root from an Amazonian shrub, known regionally as marapuama.
• Sarsaparilla root — root of the Smilax vine, historically the flavour base of old-fashioned root beer.
• Asparagus extract — from the same genus as the garden vegetable on your plate.
