What this is

Amplicell Female Enhancement is a vitamin-and-botanical dietary supplement for adult women, packaged as a white bottle of 60 vegetable capsules. The Supplement Facts panel sets a serving at two capsules and states that the bottle holds 30 servings. Every serving carries seven vitamins and minerals, two free amino acids, a black-pepper extract sold under the BioPerine trade name, and an 802 mg proprietary herbal blend built from fourteen named botanicals.

The bottle front carries the Amplicell mark, the words "Dietary Supplement", and a capsule count of 60. This listing is for that single 60-capsule bottle. It sits in our supplements for women range alongside the rest of our women's capsule formulas.

What is inside

Two capsules deliver a mix of micronutrients, amino acids and plant extracts. The vitamins are itemised individually on the panel, so you can see exactly what each serving contains rather than a single lumped figure.

The vitamins and the mineral. Vitamin A appears as beta carotene at 1,000 IU, the plant-derived form found in carrots and leafy greens. Five B vitamins follow: thiamine mononitrate (B1) at 1.25 mg, niacin (B3) at 1 mg, calcium pantothenate (B5) at 2.5 mg, pyridoxine HCL (B6) at 3.8 mg, and cyanocobalamin (B12) at 54 mcg. The B12 figure is the largest relative amount on the panel at 900% of the Daily Value; the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements fact sheet on vitamin B12 gives general background on the nutrient and its common supplement forms. The single mineral is zinc, supplied as zinc oxide at 26 mg, which the panel puts at 173% of the Daily Value; the NIH fact sheet on zinc covers intake ranges and upper limits worth knowing before you stack it with anything else.

The amino acids. L-Arginine and L-Tyrosine are listed at 100 mg each. Both are ordinary amino acids that occur in everyday protein foods — arginine in nuts, seeds and poultry, tyrosine in cheese, soy and fish — and both are common inclusions in adult wellness formulas. They are called out on the front of the bottle as well as on the panel.

BioPerine. At 500 mcg, this is a branded extract of black pepper fruit (Piper nigrum) standardised for piperine, the compound that gives peppercorns their bite. It is a formulation ingredient rather than a botanical in the blend, which is why the label gives it its own line.

The 802 mg blend. The panel names fourteen botanicals inside one proprietary blend and gives a single combined weight, so the split between them is not disclosed. What is disclosed is the roster, and it is worth walking through:

  • Epimedium — a low flowering groundcover grown in shaded gardens, where it goes by the common name barrenwort.
  • Dong Quai (Angelica) — an aromatic root long used in Chinese herbal preparations, related to celery and parsley.
  • Tribulus Terrestris — a sprawling warm-climate plant whose spiked seed cases give it the nickname puncture vine.
  • Catuaba — bark from small Brazilian trees, used traditionally in the north-east of the country.
  • Gingko biloba — the fan-shaped leaf of the maidenhair tree, one of the oldest surviving tree species on earth. The NCCIH page on ginkgo gives general background, including its known interaction with blood-thinning medication.
  • Panax Ginseng — Asian ginseng root, cultivated for years before harvest; the NCCIH page on Asian ginseng summarises what is and is not known about it.
  • Damiana — a small aromatic shrub of Mexico and Central America, whose leaves are brewed as a tea locally.
  • Ashwagandha — a root used in Ayurvedic preparations, sometimes called Indian winter cherry.
  • Ginger — the same kitchen rhizome you would grate into a curry, dried and powdered here.
  • Mucuna Pruriens extract HPLC — velvet bean. The "HPLC" on the label refers to high-performance liquid chromatography, the analytical method used to standardise the extract.
  • Maca root — a hardy root crop of the Peruvian Andes, botanically a brassica and a relative of the radish.
  • Muira puama — wood and root from an Amazonian shrub, known regionally as marapuama.
  • Sarsaparilla root — root of the Smilax vine, historically the flavour base of old-fashioned root beer.
  • Asparagus extract — from the same genus as the garden vegetable on your plate.

Because the fourteen sit inside one proprietary blend, we cannot tell you the milligram figure for any individual plant, and we will not estimate one. The 802 mg total is what the manufacturer discloses.

How to use it

The label defines a serving as two capsules and states that the bottle contains 30 servings. The packaging prints no time of day, no schedule and no with-food instruction anywhere, so the serving size is the only usage figure it gives. Follow the directions printed on the bottle in front of you, and do not exceed the stated serving.

The capsule shell is cellulose rather than gelatin, so it is plant-derived. Keep the bottle closed and away from children.

Who it is for

This is a general adult wellness formula aimed at women, sold to customers aged 18 and over. Thirty servings in a bottle puts it in the middle of the range on size — more than a single-occasion sachet or blister card, and enough to see how a multi-botanical formula suits you without committing to a bulk purchase.

It is not suitable if you are pregnant, nursing, or under 18. If you take prescription medication — blood thinners and blood-pressure medication in particular, given the ginkgo and the ginseng in the blend — talk to a pharmacist or doctor before you start. The same applies if you already take a multivitamin, because the zinc and B12 in this formula sit well above 100% of the Daily Value and would stack on top of anything else you are taking.

Good to know

The bottle carries a "ZERO" panel down one side listing what the formula is made without: gluten, soy, eggs, dairy, wheat grain, sugar and preservatives. The capsule shell itself is vegetable cellulose, and the only other excipients named are rice flour, vegetable magnesium stearate and silicon dioxide — a short list by supplement standards.

Two figures are worth noting before you buy. Zinc is present at 173% of the Daily Value and vitamin B12 at 900%. Neither is unusual in a formula of this type, but both are reasons to check what else is in your cabinet. The NCCIH overview of dietary and herbal supplements is a sensible starting point if you are new to combining products.

Herbal supplements are not reviewed by the FDA before sale. Amplicell prints the standard federal disclaimer on the bottle, and we repeat it below. No Proposition 65 warning is printed anywhere on this packaging.

Frequently asked questions

How many capsules are in the bottle?

Sixty. The Supplement Facts panel sets a serving at two capsules and states that the bottle holds 30 servings.

What is the herbal blend made of?

Fourteen botanicals: epimedium, dong quai, tribulus terrestris, catuaba, ginkgo, Panax ginseng, damiana, ashwagandha, ginger, mucuna pruriens, maca root, muira puama, sarsaparilla root and asparagus extract. They are combined into one 802 mg proprietary blend, so the label discloses the combined weight rather than a figure for each plant.

Are the capsules vegetarian?

The capsule shell is listed as cellulose (vegetable capsule) and the magnesium stearate is specified as vegetable-sourced. The label does not carry a certified vegetarian or vegan mark, so it is described here exactly as printed.

Does it contain caffeine or a stimulant?

No caffeine is listed on the panel. The formula is built from vitamins, two amino acids, black pepper extract and the fourteen-plant blend, and nothing on the label names a stimulant.

Is shipping discreet?

Yes. The outer packing carries no product imagery and no description of the contents, the Gear Isle name does not appear on it, and the descriptor that reaches your card statement is a generic one rather than the site address. Our contact page is the place to ask anything else before you order.
