Organic maca root (Lepidium meyenii), 6:1 concentrate, 500 mg — the largest row by weight. Maca is a hardy root crop in the brassica family, a relative of radish and turnip, grown high in the Peruvian Andes. What the "6:1 concentrate" notation beside it means is covered in the questions below.

Epimedium extract complex (aerial parts), min. 3% icariin, 300 mg — epimedium is a low perennial ground-cover plant with heart-shaped leaves, grown ornamentally in temperate gardens and also harvested in China, where it is printed on this label under its common name, horny goat weed. The panel specifies the aerial parts — the leaves and stems rather than the root — and sets a floor of 3% icariin, icariin being the marker compound the extract is measured against. "Min. 3%" is a minimum each batch must meet, not an average it works out to.

Tribulus (Tribulus terrestris) extract complex (fruit/aerial parts), 250 mg — tribulus is a sprawling, low-growing annual found across warm, dry regions worldwide. It is also known as puncture vine, after the small spiked seed cases it produces. This extract draws on both the fruit and the aerial parts of the plant.

American ginseng extract complex (root), 75 mg, and Asian ginseng (root), 75 mg — two true ginsengs appear here at equal weight, and they are different species of the same genus. The American one is Panax quinquefolius, a woodland understory plant of the eastern United States and Canada; the Asian one is Panax ginseng, long cultivated in Korea and north-eastern China. One small detail of the panel's own wording: the Asian ginseng row is the only one of the six that is not described as an extract or a concentrate — it reads simply "(Root)".
