What It Is
The Steel 5000 black pill is a single-capsule herbal dietary supplement for adult men, sold as one capsule sealed in a clear blister on a printed card, with a 5,000 mg proprietary blend, four added B and E vitamins, and a Made in USA stamp on the back of the card.
The card is designed to look like a weathered steel sign for a fictional crane-hire firm, with "Hardon's Rigging" printed above the product name and a truck-mounted crane in the centre. It is novelty packaging built around a building-site joke. The capsule itself is two-tone: a glossy black half ringed with two thin silver bands, joined to a metallic silver half. It sits in its own moulded bubble at the bottom of the card.

What's Inside

- Siberian ginseng. Despite the name, this is a different plant from Asian ginseng. It is Eleutherococcus senticosus, a thorny shrub from the forests of north-east Asia and the Russian Far East, where the root has long been used in folk preparations.
- L-tyrosine. An amino acid the body makes from phenylalanine. It also occurs in protein-rich foods such as cheese, poultry, soy and beans.
- Taurine. A sulfur-containing amino acid found naturally in meat and seafood. Many people know it from the ingredient lists of canned energy drinks.
- L-citrulline. An amino acid named after Citrullus, the watermelon genus, because it was first isolated from watermelon juice.
- Longjack and Tongkat Ali. Both are common names for Eurycoma longifolia, a slender tree of the Malaysian and Indonesian rainforest whose root is boiled into bitter tonics across Southeast Asia.
- Maca. Lepidium meyenii, a radish-like root crop grown on the high plateaus of the Peruvian Andes, where it is dried and eaten as a staple food.
- Bioperine. A trade-name extract of black pepper, Piper nigrum. Its characteristic compound is piperine, the source of pepper's bite, and formulators add it to multi-ingredient blends.

- Rubus. The bramble genus that includes raspberries and blackberries. The panel names the genus only, not a species.
- Kudzu (Pueraria lobata). A fast-climbing vine whose starchy root has a long history in East Asian cooking and folk use.
Outside the blend, the panel lists four vitamins with stated amounts: vitamin B-1 (thiamine), vitamin B-2 (riboflavin) and vitamin B-6 at 20 mg each, plus vitamin E at 50 IU. How to Use It
The label directs you to take one capsule with 8 to 10 ounces of water, 30 to 45 minutes before sexual activity.
