What Black Rock is
Black Rock is a single black capsule of a 1,200 mg proprietary herbal blend, sealed in one blister on a hanging card and distributed by Steele Products of Hallandale, Florida. The card is labelled “The Original The Rock — Black,” and the panel on the back states a serving size of one capsule. It is a dietary supplement for adult men, sold as a single dose rather than a course.
The format is the most useful thing to know about it. There is no daily routine and nothing to keep track of — one capsule, one card, and label directions that apply to a single occasion. If you have not bought a herbal supplement of this kind before, a one-capsule card is the least committal way to try one. Black Rock sits alongside the rest of our male enhancement pills range, most of which is sold in the same format.
What is inside the blend
The panel lists eight botanical components inside one 1,200 mg proprietary herbal blend. Because the manufacturer declares it as a proprietary blend, only the combined weight is printed; no individual milligram figure is given for any single component, and none is invented here. The list below follows the panel in the order printed, and describes each plant for what it is rather than for anything it is meant to do. The NIH Office of Dietary Supplements publishes general background on botanical dietary supplements and how they are regulated in the United States.
- Tribulus — Tribulus terrestris, a low, sprawling flowering plant growing wild across southern Europe, Africa, southern Asia and the warmer United States. It is among the most frequently used botanicals in men’s supplement formulas, with a long history in Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese preparations.
- Cordyceps Militaris — a bright orange, club-shaped fungus. Unlike its scarce wild relative Cordyceps sinensis, gathered by hand on the Tibetan plateau, militaris is cultivated commercially on grain, which is why it appears far more often on supplement panels.
- Ginger Root — the rhizome of Zingiber officinale, the same kitchen spice sold fresh in every supermarket, traded out of South East Asia for well over two thousand years.
- Cnidimum and Monnier Extract — printed as two separate lines on this panel. The names correspond to Cnidium monnieri, a white-flowered member of the carrot family whose small dried fruit is a long-standing item in traditional Chinese herbal practice.
- Theobromine — a naturally occurring compound found in the cacao bean, and part of the reason dark chocolate tastes bitter. It belongs to the same chemical family as caffeine.
- Rhodiola — Rhodiola rosea, a stubby, yellow-flowered succulent of cold, high, exposed places: Arctic Europe, the Scandinavian mountains, Siberia. Its root has been used in Russian and Scandinavian folk herbalism for centuries.
- Avena Sativa Extract — taken from the common oat, the identical cereal grain used for porridge. Supplement formulas typically use an extract of the green oat straw rather than the milled grain.
Several of these plants appear in the NCCIH reference collection Herbs at a Glance. That is background reading on the plants themselves, and is not a comment on this product.

Every figure above is transcribed from the printed panel, including the ingredient spellings, which are reproduced as the manufacturer set them. To compare this panel against other labels on file, the NIH maintains a searchable Dietary Supplement Label Database.
How to use it
The label directions read: take one capsule 45 minutes prior to sexual activity. That is the whole of the printed instruction.
The printed caution matters more: do not exceed more than one capsule in four days. This is not a supplement taken on a daily schedule, and the four-day interval is the manufacturer’s own stated limit rather than a suggestion. The label also states that the product is not for use by individuals under the age of 18 years.
Keep the capsule sealed in its blister until you intend to use it, and store the card somewhere cool, dry and out of direct sunlight. A blister is a good moisture barrier while intact and none at all once opened.
Who it is for
Black Rock is intended for adult men aged 18 and over who want a herbal supplement in a single-capsule format. The card suits two buyers in particular: someone trying this type of product for the first time who would rather not commit to a multi-capsule pack, and someone who already knows the category and wants one on hand rather than a supply.
It is not for anyone under 18. The label also names specific circumstances in which it should not be taken at all, listed in full in the next section — read them before you buy, not after. If you are comparing formats across the range, the broader supplements for men category lists the alternatives we stock.
Good to know
- The label carries a direct warning: do not take this product if you have a serious medical condition, or if you take nitrates, nitroglycerin or prescription medications.
- The label also states: do not use if you have heart problems or high blood pressure. Consult your physician if any of these apply to you.
- Use only as directed, and observe the four-day interval printed on the card.
- Keep out of reach of children. This product is for adults 18 and over only.
- The colouring FD&C Red #40 is declared among the other ingredients — a widely used food dye, but worth knowing if you avoid synthetic colours.
- Herbal supplements are not reviewed for safety or effectiveness before sale in the way medicines are. The NCCIH page on dietary and herbal supplements explains how that oversight works.
Frequently asked questions
How many capsules come on the card?
One. Black Rock is sold as a single black capsule sealed in one blister on a hanging card, and the panel lists a serving size of one capsule.
What does the 1,200 mg on the label refer to?
The 1,200 mg is the combined weight of the whole proprietary herbal blend in one capsule, not the amount of any single plant within it. No individual botanical amount is printed on the panel, and none is stated on this page.
How often does the label say it can be taken?
The printed caution sets a limit of no more than one capsule in any four-day period. That interval comes from the manufacturer’s own panel.
Is this something taken every day?
No. The four-day limit printed on the card rules that out. Black Rock is a single-occasion supplement, which is why it is packaged as one capsule.
Does it contain caffeine?
Caffeine is not listed on the panel. Theobromine is listed, a related compound from the cacao bean and not the same substance as caffeine. If you are sensitive to that family of compounds, the full ingredient list is transcribed above.
Is the packaging discreet?
Yes. Orders ship in plain outer packaging that gives no indication of the contents and does not carry the Gear Isle name. Despatch is normally the next business day, and faster paid services can be selected at checkout.
Who distributes it?
The back of the card reads “Distributed by: Steele Products, Hallandale, Fl 33008.” Gear Isle is the retailer, not the manufacturer.
