The five smallest entries on the panel are each traditional East Asian materials. Cherokee Rose, 13 mg, is the hip of a climbing rose, Rosa laevigata, despite the American-sounding name. Cnidium, 13 mg, is the seed of an umbellifer, a relative of parsley and fennel. Flat-Stem Milkvetch, 13 mg, is the seed of Astragalus complanatus, which makes it a relative of the astragalus root listed further up the same panel. Ligustrum, 13 mg, is the ripe fruit of glossy privet. Schizandra, 13 mg, is the five-flavour berry Schisandra chinensis, named for the sour, sweet, salty, bitter and pungent notes said to sit in a single fruit.
