Wild cordyceps grows on the Tibetan plateau at high altitude, though virtually all supplement material is now cultivated on a grain or liquid substrate. It has been used in traditional Chinese preparations for centuries and turns up regularly in modern botanical formulas.

• Dong Quai — 71.4 mg. The root of Angelica sinensis, an umbellifer related to celery and carrot. It is sometimes nicknamed "female ginseng" because of its traditional associations, but it appears in mixed botanical formulas of all kinds.
• Cherokee Rose — 26 mg. Despite the American name, this is Rosa laevigata, a climbing rose native to southern China. The fruit, or hip, is the part used in Chinese herbalism, where it is called jin ying zi.
• Cnidium — 26 mg. The small ribbed fruit of Cnidium monnieri, another member of the carrot family, harvested when ripe and dried.
• Flat-Stem Milkvetch — 26 mg. The seed of Astragalus complanatus, sha yuan zi. Note that this is a second, different Astragalus species from the root listed above — a different plant and a different part of it, not a duplicate line.
• Ligustrum — 26 mg. The dried fruit of Ligustrum lucidum, the glossy privet, a broadleaf evergreen widely planted as an ornamental. Its berries are nu zhen zi in Chinese practice.
• Schizandra — 26 mg. The berry of Schisandra chinensis, a woody vine of north-eastern China and the Russian Far East. Its Chinese name wu wei zi means "five-flavour berry", because the fruit is sour, sweet, salty, bitter and pungent all at once.

One thing the panel does not do is add up to its own serving size. The ten amounts above total 1,944.4 mg against a stated 2,800 mg serving, leaving roughly 855 mg of the capsule unitemised, and the card carries no "Other Ingredients" line to account for it — no capsule shell material, no fillers, nothing.
