What this is
NOW Foods Boron 3 mg is a single-ingredient mineral supplement in a bottle of 100 vegetarian capsules, each declaring 3 mg of boron from a source material the label names as Albion™ Bororganic Glycine. The front of the bottle is printed “100 Veg Capsules”, “Dietary Supplement” and “Vegetarian/Vegan”, and the back panel is headed with the product’s own category band: Minerals. It sits with the rest of our single-nutrient bottles in Minerals.
Boron itself is a chemical element — a metalloid that occurs naturally in soil, in seawater and in a wide range of plant foods. It is not a name most shoppers meet often on an ingredient list, which is part of why this label gives as much space to the source compound as it does to the amount.
What’s in the capsule
One capsule declares one active entry: Boron, 3 mg, from Bororganic Glycine (Albion™). That is the whole of the Supplement Facts table — a serving size, a single amount and a single footnote, with no percentage column at all. The section below explains why the percentage column is missing, because it is the part of this label most likely to be misread.
The other ingredients, exactly as printed, are Microcrystalline Cellulose, Hypromellose (cellulose capsule), Ascorbyl Palmitate and Maltodextrin. Beyond naming hypromellose as the cellulose capsule, the panel assigns no role to any of them, so neither do we. What they are, though, is straightforward chemistry: microcrystalline cellulose is purified plant cellulose, a refined form of the fibrous material in plant cell walls; hypromellose is a modified cellulose; ascorbyl palmitate is an ester made from ascorbic acid and palmitic acid; and maltodextrin is a carbohydrate derived from starch. Those four, plus the boron entry, are everything the panel declares.
The trademark notice on the side panel
The side of this bottle carries a trademark notice: “Albion™ and the Albion Gold Medallion design are trademarks of Balchem Corporation or its subsidiaries.” Printed beside it is the Albion Minerals medallion itself, in gold.
A trademark attribution is a legal notice about who owns a mark. It is not a quality rating and it is not a certification, and reading it as either would be a mistake. What it does tell you is narrower and more checkable: the maker has identified the specific branded source material used in this capsule, and named the company that owns that brand, rather than listing a chemical name alone. The same name is printed in three places on one bottle — on the front as Albion™ Bororganic Glycine, inside the Supplement Facts entry in parentheses, and again in the trademark line on the side. If you like to know exactly which material went into a capsule, that is a name you can look up rather than a description you have to take on trust.
Supplement Facts

Why there is no percentage column
A Supplement Facts panel normally carries a % Daily Value column, which expresses an amount as a fraction of a published reference intake. This panel has none. The 3 mg entry is marked with a double asterisk, and the footnote reads, in full, “Daily Value not established.” That is the label stating that no official reference figure has been set for this nutrient, so there is nothing for 3 mg to be a percentage of, and the panel gives the amount and stops.
It is worth knowing, because a missing percentage is easy to read as an omission rather than as what the panel prints in place of a figure. Boron also has no consumer fact sheet of its own in the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements collection; the full index of ODS fact sheets shows what that office does publish. If you want to see how other marketed products print their panels, the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database collects label images from the shelf.
How to take it
The label’s Suggested Usage is one capsule daily with a meal, and that single line is the whole of the instruction. Storage is equally short: store in a cool, dry place after opening.
The arithmetic that follows from a one-capsule serving is simple. The bottle holds 100 capsules, so at the suggested usage it holds 100 servings, which is a 100-day supply. The panel itself prints no servings line; that figure comes from dividing the count on the front by the serving size on the back.
Who it’s for
This is a bottle for an adult who already knows they are looking for boron specifically. Single-nutrient products suit people who prefer to choose each item in a routine separately rather than accept a fixed blend, and who want to read one amount off a panel rather than work through a column of them. Browse the rest of our Supplements range if a multi-nutrient formula is a better fit.
It is less suitable if you want a broad formula in a single capsule, or if you would rather not keep several separate bottles on the shelf. The capsule is vegetarian and the front of the bottle is marked Vegetarian/Vegan, so it fits a plant-based routine. As with everything in Health & Wellness, it is for adults 18 and over, and the label itself is explicit that it is for adults only.
Good to know
- Allergen statement, as printed: “Not manufactured with wheat, gluten, soy, milk, egg, fish, shellfish, tree nut or sesame ingredients. Produced in a GMP facility that processes other ingredients containing these allergens.”
- Caution, as printed: “For adults only. Consult physician if pregnant/nursing, taking medication, or have a medical condition. Keep out of reach of children.” The label names no drug class and no specific medical condition beyond that line.
- Appearance: the label notes that natural color variation may occur in this product.
- Origin: the panel reads “Made and quality tested in the USA with globally sourced ingredients”, and gives the maker as NOW FOODS, 395 S. Glen Ellyn Rd., Bloomingdale, IL 60108, USA.
- Marks on the bottle: a GMP Quality Assured seal, a “K” inside a triangle, and a Non-GMO badge on the front.
- General background: the FDA’s questions and answers on dietary supplements covers how this category is regulated.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much boron is in one capsule?
One capsule contains 3 mg of boron, from the source compound the panel names as Bororganic Glycine (Albion™). That is the only active entry on the Supplement Facts panel, and the serving size is one capsule, so one capsule is also one full serving.
Why does the panel show no % Daily Value for boron?
Because no Daily Value has been established for boron, which the panel says outright in its footnote. A percentage column needs a published reference intake to divide by; where none has been set, the panel prints the plain amount and marks it with a double asterisk pointing to that footnote.
Is the capsule suitable for vegetarians?
Yes. The capsule shell named on the panel is hypromellose, which the label itself describes as a cellulose capsule, and the front of the bottle is marked Vegetarian/Vegan.
How many capsules come in the bottle?
The bottle holds 100 veg capsules. At the label’s suggested usage of one capsule daily with a meal, that works out to 100 servings, or a 100-day supply from a single bottle.
How is the order packaged for delivery?
Orders are shipped in plain outer packaging. It will not show the Gear Isle name.
