What it is

4. On/Off button. The upper button on the cap carries the standard power symbol and starts or stops the pump.
5. Quick release button. The lower button, marked with a small cloud-and-lines icon, is the one the manufacturer calls the quick release. It is how you let air back in and break the seal.

A sixth numbered item on the diagram is the loose silicone ring, covered below. The PUMPED diamond logo is moulded into the cap under the two buttons, and it matches the diamond printed on the carton.

The carton front and back both flag a free silicone ring, and a gallery image shows it on its own: a plain matte black band, broad and flat rather than a thin cord, with a gentle twist in its profile. The manufacturer's accessory graphic calls it the Infinity ring, which fits that twisted shape. It is a separate loose piece, not attached to the pump.

A wearable ring of this kind is a close-fitting accessory. Wear it only while it stays comfortable, take it off straight away if you feel numbness, coldness or pain, and follow any instructions supplied in the carton. How to use it

Start with the printed instructions inside the carton, since those are the manufacturer's directions for this exact unit. The manufacturer also supplies a three-panel "How it works" diagram, reproduced in our gallery, which shows the order of events: the cylinder is placed so the sleeve seals at the base, air is drawn out through the top of the cylinder, and the ring stays at the base once the cylinder has been taken away.

With this model, that sequence maps onto the two buttons. Press On/Off to start the pump, press it again to stop, and use Quick release to let air back in before you lift the cylinder away. Go gently the first few times. Stop at once if anything feels uncomfortable, and never keep the pump running to push past discomfort. A clean, lightly lubricated sleeve seals more easily, and a water-based lubricant is the usual pairing with silicone.

The cap holds the controls, and no water-resistance rating is legible on the packaging, so keep the cap dry. Wipe the sleeve and the inside of the tube with warm water and a mild soap after every use, dry every part fully, and store the pump in its carton away from heat and direct sunlight. Wash the silicone ring the same way.
