• Damiana leaf — Turnera diffusa, a small aromatic shrub native to Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. Its leaves have traditionally been dried and brewed as a tea in the regions where it grows.
• Guarana — the seed of an Amazonian climbing vine, Paullinia cupana, cultivated in Brazil. Guarana seed is naturally caffeine-bearing, which is worth knowing before you take it; the label does not state a caffeine content for the capsule.
• Yohimbe — the bark of a West African evergreen tree, Pausinystalia johimbe. • Maca — Lepidium meyenii, a root vegetable grown at high altitude in the Peruvian Andes, where it is an ordinary food crop. The root is dried and milled to a powder for supplement use.
